AUSTRALIAN OWNED – AUSTRALIAN MADE

That’s what an Australian is

Are you 100% Aussie?
I think we need to first ask, what is an Australian?
At the very core, we were the indigenous people of the land. The caretakers of this truly magnificent country we call home.

We were convicts. Charged with committing crimes and then shipped here to serve our time. I wonder if they would have done that if they actually knew just how beautiful our country really is?
Then, we were migrants. Families, or those wanting to start a family, that sailed across the oceans to land on our golden shores and settle here. Starting fresh, a new life. Perhaps a better life. That’s what Australia had provided for many.

That’s what an Australian is.

Within those indigenous, convicts and migrants, we also welcomed religions. Over the decades we have welcomed many religions, all with their own rituals, beliefs, customs. We welcomed new settlers to this great land with the freedom to follow those many different faiths without prejudice.

That’s what an Australian is.

Nowadays, I can walk through the streets, through the shopping malls, through the parks, along our beaches and even through the many corporate offices located across Australia.

When I do, I don’t see indigenous, I don’t see convicts, I don’t see migrants. I don’t see people from different origins nor do I see people with different beliefs. I see Australians.

That’s what an Australian is.

I myself was born in Brisbane, Queensland. I was baptised a Methodist but through my younger years attended a Lutheran church. For many many years now, I have not followed any religion. But that’s my choice and thankfully, I live in a country that gives me the freedom to make that choice without discrimination.

That’s what Australians do.

So are you 100% Aussie?

100PercentAussie does NOT discriminate or have any prejudices towards any nationality, religion or belief. We believe in one goal. To support our fellow Aussies.

I Am Australian Lyrics

I came from the dream-time
From the dusty red-soil plains
I am the ancient heart
The keeper of the flame
I stood upon the rocky shores
I watched the tall ships come
For forty thousand years I’ve been
The first Australian

I came upon the prison ship
Bowed down by iron chains
I bought the land, endured the lash
And waited for the rains
I’m a settler, I’m a farmer’s wife
On a dry and barren run
A convict, then a free man
I became Australian

I’m the daughter of a digger
Who sought the mother lode
The girl became a woman
On the long and dusty road
I’m a child of the Depression
I saw the good times come
I’m a bushie, I’m a battler
I am Australian

We are one, but we are many
And from all the lands on earth we come
We’ll share a dream and sing with one voice
“I am, you are, we are Australian”

I’m a teller of stories
I’m a singer of songs
I am Albert Namatjira
And I paint the ghostly gums
I’m Clancy on his horse
I’m Ned Kelly on the run
I’m the one who waltzed Matilda
I am Australian

I’m the hot wind from the desert
I’m the black soil of the plains
I’m the mountains and the valleys
I’m the drought and flooding rains
I am the rock, I am the sky
The rivers when they run
The spirit of this great land
I am Australian

We are one, but we are many
And from all the lands on earth we come
We’ll share a dream and sing with one voice
“I am, you are, we are Australian”

We are one, but we are many
And from all the lands on earth we come
We’ll share a dream and sing with one voice
“I am, you are, we are Australian”

“I am, you are, we are Australian”

“I am Australian”
Lyrics written by Bruce Woodley and Dobe Newton
